Students have to be entering 7th grade at a minimum. They will need a full permission slip and a one-on-one conversation with the parents. Archery is dangerous, even with all of our training and safety practices. Arms can be bruised, eyes can be poked, or worse. Any student who points a loaded bow at someone else, even once, will be sent home and not allowed back into this activity.
Check the calendar! Only 3 students will be able to go on “adventures” at a time. We will be shooting real recurve bows with nationally certified “safe” arrows used in archery tag. Our consultant is a national champion in foam-weapon combat and our lead advisor is a doctoral candidate in applied mathematics who also participates in these sports.
